As I mentioned in the prior blog we moved from a concept of portable cnc welder to steering cylinder welding and finally providing a complete solution for multiple ports for the Front End Tipper (FET) cylinders. As a glimpse here is what it came out to be :

For once this had all the features of circular welding, Multi pass overlay, weaving, Multiple port welding and the pre weld prerequisite was the ports to be pre tacked. This was also our first complete closed loop system on a cylinder welder and the main advantage of such a system was it was operational for more than 200+ varieties of cylinders.
Our First Patent :
Our first patent in India was with our cylinder welder. It took us three years but we finally got the design and functionality patent applied. Now we have extended the same to Australia as well. I never thught patent was important, but when I lost my concept for a Regenerative Suspension System in the year 2012 is when I realized its very important for our ideas to be registered, the sharing of the same can be individually driven post patent, but the authority we get with this is simply great. For example during our patent we had two more teams competing, one from the USA & the other from China, but we won.

WIPRO : One fine clientele
We were approached by a team from Wipro Enterprises, for their cylinder welding application. And for most of the people who know only the software part of Wipro, let me tell you about their hardware/mechanical supremacy, they are one of the world’s largest hydraulic cylinder manufacturer for FET class cylinders in India and have huge global presence. They have just about everything in relation with the hydraulic industry catering to the Infrastructure segment.
Our challenges grew ten folds with this team as their requirement was very precise and in detail, with many a first features being added to our system to handle their requirement. Our next learning curve started with this project and whatever upgrades we have done so far made with our third generation is great effort jointly put forth by our team at NIKIT & the welding team headed by Mr. Naufal Kabeer. With Auto Port Locator inbuilt along with Tube Clamps it became quite easy for the port to be tacked ont he machine automatically and further continue to weld it completely, so the misalignment issue with manual port tacking by labor was completely eliminated.
